Why Is It Essential to Use Unique UTM Parameters for Each Ad

UTM parameters are tags added to the end of your landing page URLs. They help you track where your traffic is coming from, down to the specific ad that generated the click. Using unique UTM parameters for each ad allows you to:

  • Track Each Ad Separately: By assigning different UTM tags to each ad, you can see exactly how each one performs in ClickMagick.
  • Analyze Results Precisely: With separate tracking, you can identify which ads are performing best in your test campaigns. You can also view historical ad data.
  • Optimize Your Campaigns: Understanding the performance of each ad helps you test variations of your best performing ad to improve your funnel.

How to Create Unique UTM Parameters: To set up unique UTM parameters for your ads, follow these steps:

  • Use the Campaign URL Builder: Log in to ClickMagick and access the Campaign URL Builder tool.
  • Generate Custom URLs: For each ad, fill in the details in the URL Builder to create a URL with unique UTM parameters. Suggested use of UTM parameters:
    • Source: Product name
    • Medium: Account nickname
    • Campaign: Campaign name
    • Term: Video name or testing elements
    • Content: Any extra variable you wish to add
  • Implement in Your Ads: Use the generated URLs in the Final URL field of your ads to ensure accurate tracking of their performance.
